How to get there:-
Nearest airports are La Rochelle and Nantes, 45 mins and 1.5 hours drive respectively. Poitiers is also accessible by car in 1 hour 15 mins. Airport transfers can be arranged. The driving times from the channel ports are St Malo (3 hours), Caen (4 hours) and Cherbourg (5 hours). Access from other ports is also possible. Use of a car is recommended.
We are 12km from the market towns of Fontenay-le-Comte and 15km from Lucon. The pretty harbour of La Rochelle & famous aquarium, numerous bars & restaurants and great shopping are approx. 50 mins drive. Futuroscope & Puy de Fou are approx. 1.5 hour's drive. The Marais Poitevin with its sleepy waterways, boat rides and beautiful abbeys is under 30 minutes by car. The Mervent Forest is 25 mins by car. Atlantic beaches are under an hour. Quality golf courses nearby. Trout and carp fishing 5 minutes walk.
With over 200 kilometres of sandy beaches, including numerous awarded blue flags, there is no wonder that this part of France is the second most visited in the whole of France after the French Riviera.

An exciting cycling path is marked out along the marshes and mudflats, creating an avenue for experiencing the rich wildlife. Heading out for some great surf fishing along the ocean or at one of the areas lakes or rivers is also an easy feat among the extensive network of waterways.
